Blood – Blood formation

All blood cells are formed in the red bone marrow. Bones with plentiful bone marrow are the breastbone, the vertebrae or the large long bones. Lymphocytes are formed in the lymph nodes and in the spleen. In the horse the spleen also serves as a reservoir of red blood cells.
