A type of closed or bar shoe. The bar joins the heels of the shoe and is rounded i.e. it extends back from the heels creating an egg like shape (hence the name). The shoe supports the palmar/plantar structures in the hoof and is used as a therapeutic shoe after injury of tendons and ligaments in the distal limb.
