Half moon shaped horse shoe which extends from midway on either side of the hoof around the toe. It is usually used to protect the toe of young horses from excessive wear in order to resist club or upright feet.

These are sometimes used instead of a swan neck or toe extension shoe in milder cases of upright feet. 

Traditionally used in Racehorses turned out after training.
