An airbag for riders in the form of a vest worn by the rider which is attached to the horse's saddle via a thin rip-line. When this is activated (through the rider leaving the saddle), presurised air flows into compartments of the vest, thereby inflating it. This can provide additional protection in case of a fall, particularly in the region of the neck. For full protection it should be worn over a conventional body protector.
