An examination of the lining (and contents) of the stomach with an endoscope (a camera attached to a fibreoptic cable) which is inserted through the nasal passage and the oesophagus. This is performed to check for the presence of gastric ulcers - a frequent disorder of horses subjected to an unnatural (stabled) lifestyle.
